Upcoming Courses

As well as delivering self-paced distance education training and in-house courses for government agencies, KPS also delivers selected face-to-face training courses for general enrolment. The courses are suited to individuals and organisations who may not have sufficient numbers to run in-house training. The courses generally comprise a mix of individuals working in local, state and federal government.

PSP40416 Certificate IV in Government Investigations – instructor-led face-to-face

The aim of this course is to provide local laws officers, compliance officers and government investigators with the key skills to conduct competent, thorough and legally defensible investigations. Participants will acquire practical skills and strategies to conduct effective investigations in a government environment.

The course is conducted over 5 consecutive days, with up to 12 months to complete the post-course assessment. All materials and assessments are provided.

Advanced Investigative Interviewing

The Advanced Investigative Interviewing course focuses on equipping participants with the essential skills necessary to conduct complex investigative interviews.

The advanced course is suitable for experienced investigators interested in gaining skills required to manage and plan complex interviews. This course is ideal for experienced interviewers who have completed prior interview training and demonstrated an aptitude for planning and conducting complex interviews.

Participants have the option to complete a post-course assessment interview, which will provide competency in the units PSPREG006 Produce formal record of interview and PSPREG012 Gather information through interviews at no extra cost.

Code of Conduct and Workplace Investigations

The Code of Conduct and Workplace Investigations course focuses on providing participants with the key skills required to conduct investigations that may involve breaches of discipline, misconduct, or potential corrupt conduct.

The Code of Conduct and Workplace Investigations course is suitable for both new and experienced internal investigators, managers, HR personnel, and other government or private sector individuals who are required to conduct workplace investigations.

Court Protocols and Giving Evidence

The Court Protocols and Giving Evidence course focuses on providing participants with the key skills required to give professional evidence in a court room or tribunal. The workshop provides participants with an opportunity to understand the court process and to give mock evidence in a real court room environment (subject to availability). Participants will receive feedback on their courtroom protocol, nonverbal behaviour, and oral testimony.

Participants have the option to complete a post-course assessment, which will provide competency in the unit PSPREG011. Give evidence at no extra cost.

Click on the ‘register now’ link to register your interest in one of these courses. Upon enrolment, KPS will register your details and confirm your attendance at least six weeks prior to the scheduled course date. Payment will only be required upon confirmation of your attendance.

Waitlist note: Registrants will be placed on a waitlist for courses. We will inform you of upcoming vacancies. Public course dates are planned dates only, but should run as scheduled. Public courses are subject to a minimum of 10 participants per workshop. A minimum number of participants is required for training to proceed. If the minimum number of participants is not met, we reserve the right to cancel, postpone, or reschedule the course. Repeat dates may be added once a workshop is full. No payments will be accepted until the course dates are confirmed.
